CDCS is the second stage in the EPI design and build curriculum in the EPI Data Centre Training Framework. You need a valid CDCP certificate to sign up for the CDCS course. The training course on the Certified Data Centre Specialist is a prerequisite for people who want to achieve CDCE status (Certified Data Centre Expert) – i.e. the highest level of training path to become a certified data center expert.

Certified Data Centre Specialist: What awaits you in this course

After you have completed the CDCS training, you will be able to:

  • To understand the life cycles of a data center. Scalability of technical building equipment
  • To communicate the data center requirements in detail to dealers, suppliers and service providers.
  • To evaluate the designs, cost estimates and offers of traders and service providers.
  • To understand the electrical circuit diagrams and identify the most common problems in planning.
  • Setting up an uninterruptible power supply and correct parallel installation and avoiding classic errors during configuration.
  • The basic factors for the construction of the cooling system, the temperature differential and cooling air quantity to be taken into account.
  • The options for fire protection to be noted
  • And much more

The target group for CDCS certification

The primary audience for this course who work in and around the data center and are responsible for continuous availability and management. These include data center managers, operations/floor/facility managers, data center engineers, network and system engineers, and consultants.

This can be waited for you at the exam

The Certified Data Centre Specialist multiple-choice exam lasts 90 minutes and consists of 60 questions. The test is considered to have been passed if at least 45 of the 60 questions are answered correctly by the TN. The participants who have successfully completed the exam will receive the internationally recognised Certified Data Centre Specialist Certificate (CDCS).

The CDCS certificate is valid for three years, after which a recertification or further qualification is required. The available options can be found in the EPI Recertification Program.
