From the 28th June 2025, the Accessibility Act (BSFG) will enter into force, which obliges German companies to make their websites and apps accessible. This law is based on the European Accessibility Act (EAA) and ensures that digital services are accessible to all people.
The law aims to remove obstacles for people with disabilities and to promote their equal participation in social life. It is intended to ensure that products and services are accessible and usable for all people.

What does BFSG mean for your company?
The BSFG is the German implementation of the EAA, an EU directive that sets minimum standards for the accessibility of products and services. The following areas affected:
- ATMs and banking services
- Computers, phones and TV sets
- Telecommunications and transport services
- Online retailers
- E-book readers and machines (e.g. cash and ticket machines)
From the 28th June 2025 all new products and services must meet these standards. The exceptions include private and purely business (B2B) offers and small businesses with fewer than ten employees or an annual turnover of up to two million euros. In addition, companies can be exempted from the requirements if the implementation represents an economic risk.

- Compliance with legal requirements: From mid-over 2025, your digital offerings must meet the accessibility standards. This is part of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and a human right.
